Usage & limits
Novex shows you what the Copilot is spending on your own API key, and you manage the Copilot from Settings → AI. Because you bring your own provider key (see Novex AI Copilot), the cost is billed to you by that provider — the readout here is visibility, not a Novex invoice.
Configure AI (Settings → AI)
Admins manage the Copilot from Settings → AI:
- Go to Settings → AI.
- Enable or disable the Copilot for your workspace.
- Adjust the available options (these depend on your plan).
- Save. Changes apply to the workspace immediately.
Because configuration is permission-gated, only teammates with the right role can change AI settings — see Team & roles.
Usage tracking
Settings → AI shows requests made and the amount spent, so the workspace can see consumption as it accrues rather than discovering it on the provider’s bill.
⚠️ No plan currently imposes a token cap. The plan model carries a per-plan AI token limit, but it is set to unlimited on every tier today, so the Copilot does not pause on a Novex-side quota. What limits you is your provider’s own account — its rate limits, credit balance and billing.
Which plans have the Copilot
The Copilot is a Spectrum-tier feature. It is not a smaller allowance on lower plans — below Spectrum there is no access at all.

Cost is billed by your AI provider, not by Novex. Because you connect your own key (see Novex AI Copilot), what you spend is set by that vendor’s pricing and your own usage — Novex does not meter it as a plan quota. The usage readout under Settings → AI is there so you can see consumption against your own key.
Tips & limits
- Watch usage near month-end if your team relies on the Copilot heavily, so you are not surprised by the cap.
- Disable the Copilot per workspace from Settings → AI if you need to switch it off entirely.
- Upgrade for more capacity — if you regularly hit the cap, a higher plan raises the allowance.
- Usage is shared across the workspace, so coordinate if multiple teammates draw on the same quota.
