Onboarding wizard

After you verify your email, Novex drops you into a five-step wizard that configures the essentials of your workspace. Every step can be skipped and completed later, so you’re never blocked from exploring.

When to use this

Right after signup. You can also return to it any time from Settings → Setup until all five steps are complete.

The five steps

The wizard runs in this order. The progress bar shows how many of the five are done.

  1. Workspace — Display name, default language (English or Arabic), and time zone. These drive date/number formatting and the default UI language for new team members.
  2. Branding — Upload your logo and set your primary and accent colors. This branding flows into badges, public registration pages, quotations, and invoices.
  3. First event — Create your first event inline (name, dates) so the dashboard isn’t empty on first load. You can skip and create one later from Events → + New event.
  4. Team — Invite colleagues by email and assign each a role (for example Admin, Sales, Ops, Finance, Viewer). See Team & roles for what each role can do.
  5. Integrations — Optional connectors: ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing (KSA), WhatsApp Business, payments, and social. These are configured per tenant and can always wait — see Integrations.

Skipping and coming back

  • Soft-skip: click Skip for now on any step. The wizard marks the rest as pending and lets you into the app.
  • No dead ends: if you open an operational page (Events, Invoices, etc.) before finishing setup, you’ll see a helpful empty state with a call to action rather than being redirected back into the wizard. You stay in control of where you go.
  • Resume: the wizard reopens at the next incomplete step. Once the last remaining step is done, onboarding is marked complete and stops prompting you.

Tips

  • Do Branding early. Because it propagates to public-facing documents and pages, setting it up first means everything you create afterward looks right.
  • Compliance/finance details (CR number, VAT number, bank details) are entered in Settings → Company and are required before you send a compliant quotation or invoice — set them up before your first finance document.
  • Re-running a completed step is safe; marking a step done is idempotent.
