Meta App & assets

Novex owns one Meta Developer App. You don’t create your own — instead you grant your WhatsApp Business Account, Instagram account, and Facebook Page to Novex’s app as assets. This single-app model is what powers both WhatsApp Business and Meta social posting.

Why a single app

Meta’s platform is designed so that a software provider runs one reviewed, verified app and its customers connect their own business assets to it. The benefits for you:

  • No app review. You never submit an app to Meta or wait for permission approvals — Novex’s app is already reviewed for the WhatsApp and posting permissions.
  • No webhook setup. The webhook URL is part of Novex’s app, not yours.
  • Faster connect. You authorize once through an embedded popup and pick which assets to share.

How assets work

When you connect, Meta shows an embedded signup / Business Login overlay. You sign in with the Facebook account that manages your business and grant specific assets to the Novex app:

AssetGrants Novex the ability to
WABA (WhatsApp Business Account)Send WhatsApp messages + submit templates
Facebook PagePublish posts to that Page
Instagram accountPublish posts to that Instagram profile

Granting an asset does not transfer ownership. You keep full control in Meta Business Manager and can revoke the grant at any time.

The platform webhook

Because there’s one Novex app, there’s one webhook URL, owned and verified by Novex. Incoming events (WhatsApp delivery receipts, inbound replies, message status) are signed with Novex’s app secret and verified on Novex’s side.

There is no per-tenant webhook token. You never copy a verify token, register a callback URL, or configure webhook fields in your own Meta app — there is no “your own Meta app” in this model. If a setup guide ever asks for a webhook verify token, it’s out of date.

Connecting your assets

  1. Make sure your business is verified in Meta Business Manager (a one-time Meta process; allow 1–3 business days).
  2. In Novex, open the relevant connector — Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp for messaging, or → Meta for social posting.
  3. Click Connect. The Meta embedded-signup / Business Login overlay opens.
  4. Sign in with the account that manages the asset, select the WABA / Page / Instagram account to share, and confirm.
  5. The grant lands back in Novex and the connector shows Connected.

Tips & limits

  • One Business, many assets. You can grant a WABA, a Page, and an Instagram account from the same login if they’re under one Business.
  • Revoking a grant in Meta Business Manager (Business settings → Apps) immediately stops Novex from using that asset; the connector then shows Action needed.
  • If a newly added phone number or Page doesn’t appear in Novex, re-run the connect flow — the asset list refreshes on each grant.
