What's new

What’s new

The latest user-facing changes to Novex. Internal-only fixes (deploy tooling, infrastructure) are omitted.

July 2026 — Onboarding, reporting, microsites & mobile

New

  • First-login tours — short guided tours open the first time you reach the dashboard, the events list, or the form builder, with a Replay tour button to run them again any time.
  • Empty states — every list with no data yet shows the same friendly one-liner plus a button to create the first item.
  • Export any report to CSV / Excel — every report page (revenue, events, leads, pipeline, occupancy, vendors) has an Export CSV button in the header, so you can pull the underlying figures into a spreadsheet.
  • Branded eBadge designer — set a per-field text colour and a QR foreground colour, and upload a background image while you’re creating a template (not only when editing an existing one).
  • Stale-edit protection — if someone saves a record while you’re editing it, Novex warns you before your save can overwrite their newer changes, and lets you reload or overwrite on purpose.
  • Mobile app (coming soon) — a companion app with native badge QR check-in and push notifications, starting with Google Play internal testing.

Improved

  • Event microsites, fully themeable — dual colour pickers with automatic WCAG-AA contrast, seven font pairs, and a live EN/AR preview; publish or unpublish any time with a sticky public URL. See theming and publishing.
  • WhatsApp: starter-template library + draft campaigns — browse Novex’s ready-made starter templates and save a campaign as a draft to finish and send later.
  • WhatsApp Business on every paid plan — connecting via Facebook and sending campaigns is now included on Flare, Spectrum, Aurora, and Cosmos (plus the Pro Event pass), not just higher tiers.
  • Consistent currency display — monetary amounts now render with your workspace or document currency (for example the SAR suffix) consistently across invoices, quotations, and reports. See finance & locale settings.

June 2026 — Sales, finance & engagement

New

  • Clients & CRM — capture leads (manual or via a public, embeddable capture form), work deals through a drag-and-drop pipeline, keep a master client record, and track contracts. Converting a qualified lead creates a deal and a client in one step.
  • Approvals queue — a central Approvals inbox routes quotations, budgets, purchase orders, and invoices through multi-step sign-off chains, with the document previewed inline so approvers decide in context.
  • Analytics & reports — a dedicated Analytics area covering the workspace dashboards, filterable report pages, and the branded post-event event report PDF.
  • Projected profit — the dashboard now shows projected profit (approved invoices minus approved budgets) so you can see expected margin at a glance.
  • Surveys & feedback — create NPS/CSAT surveys, share them by public link or QR, capture respondent identity, and read response analytics.
  • Vendor directory — a full vendors supplier directory with legal documents, bank details, logo upload, and linked purchase orders.

Improved

  • Year-aware document numbering — references now carry the year (e.g. QT-2026-0001) and reset each January. See Document numbering.
  • Day-based pricing — quote, invoice, and budget lines compute as quantity × days × unit price, so multi-day crews and rentals price on one line.
  • Editable finance, locale & company settings — set your own currency, VAT rate, fiscal year, timezone, language, and company identity. See Finance & locale defaults.
  • Branding with auto-contrast headers — pick any brand colour; the document header text adapts for readability. See Branding.
  • Confirmation-email batch send — send registrant confirmations in bulk to a selected batch, with Sent / Not-sent tracking. See Managing registrations.
  • More reliable kiosk offline sync — the offline check-in queue is durable across reloads and drains reliably once back online. See Kiosk check-in.
  • Full budget control — edit or delete individual budget lines and delete a whole budget. See Budgets & forecasting.

On the roadmap

  • ROI dashboard — a per-event return-on-investment view. See ROI dashboard.
  • WhatsApp drip automation — trigger-based attendee message journeys. See WhatsApp drip automation.
  • Gamification — a points leaderboard and a moderated photo wall. See Gamification.

May 2026 — Launch-polish wave

New

  • First-run product tour & empty-state guidance — new workspaces get a guided tour, and modules with no data yet show helpful next-step prompts instead of blank screens.
  • Blog, resources & glossary — a content library on the marketing site, including an event-ROI calculator and a glossary of event-management terms.
  • Populated sales-demo workspace — a pre-seeded demo tenant lets you explore a realistic, fully-populated Novex without setting anything up. The onboarding gate can be skipped to jump straight in.
  • Enterprise kiosk mode — expanded kiosk check-in for larger deployments.
  • Branded, bilingual error pages — friendly 404 and 500 pages in English and Arabic. See Error pages.
  • Public status page — real-time service health at /status. See Status page.

Improved

  • English-first experience — the landing page and signup now default to English for a global audience, with Arabic a first-class switch. See Localization.
  • Arabic polish — number formatting and wording refinements across the Arabic interface.
  • Faster marketing site — code-splitting, optimized images, and a responsive header that works cleanly down to 360px-wide screens.
  • Accessibility & contrast — several passes improving colour contrast and screen-reader support across the app and public pages.
  • Activation reminders — helpful day-2 and day-5 emails during the free trial so you don’t lose momentum.

Security & correctness

  • Signup abuse protection — per-IP rate limiting and a honeypot guard on the public trial signup to block automated abuse.
  • Correct Hijri dates on invoices — invoice date validation prevents implausible years, and the Hijri date now renders correctly on KSA tax documents. See Invoices.
  • Technical SEO — richer structured data, metadata, and sitemap coverage so Novex pages surface accurately in search and AI answer engines.
