WhatsApp campaigns

WhatsApp campaigns send approved template messages to your contacts at scale — reminders, confirmations, and updates that benefit from WhatsApp’s high open rates. Every outbound campaign message must use a template that Meta has already approved.

When and why to use it

Use WhatsApp for short, timely, high-priority messages: a “doors open in 1 hour” reminder, a confirmation, or a sponsor update. For longer, designed content to a broad list, use Email campaigns instead.

Before you start

  1. Connect your WhatsApp Business Account. WhatsApp campaigns only work once your WABA is granted to Novex — see WhatsApp Business.
  2. Get templates approved. Meta requires every non-conversational message to be a pre-approved template. Submit and track templates from the WhatsApp integration — approval ranges from minutes (UTILITY / AUTHENTICATION) to up to 24 hours (MARKETING). See WhatsApp Business → Submit message templates.

Send a campaign

  1. Open the WhatsApp module and start a new campaign.
  2. Pick the audience — event registrants, sponsor contacts, or a marketing list.
  3. Choose an approved template and the language variant.
  4. Fill the placeholders — map each {{1}}, {{2}}, … to data such as first name or event name.
  5. Schedule for now or a future time, then send.

Novex queues each message and rate-limits to stay under your WABA’s throughput tier (Meta tiers you 250 → 1k → 10k → 100k → unlimited based on quality and opt-ins).

Quality and opt-outs

  • Contacts who opted out are skipped silently — they aren’t even queued.
  • Inbound replies arrive on the platform webhook and attach to the contact’s record in Novex.
  • If Meta lowers your quality rating, Novex flags it so you can throttle back before limits tighten.

Tips & limits

  • You cannot free-type a marketing blast — only approved templates send. Plan template approval ahead of a campaign.
  • Submit a separate template per language (e.g. English and Arabic).
  • Keep MARKETING templates genuinely useful; repeated blocks or low-quality flags reduce your sending tier.
  • Test with a small internal audience before a full send to confirm placeholder mapping.
